New Local History Room Exhibit

Take a peek into Cherry Hill’s history by checking out this new exhibit on the lower level of the Library. “Glimpses of Cherry Hill’s Past: People, Places and Events” features some choice items from the archives of the Cherry Hill Historical Commission. You can reminisce about the past or just learn what people were doing 50, 60 and 70 years ago. You’ll see that conservation was on Cherry Hill residents’ minds 40 years ago and a Little Leaguer from our town pitched the first perfect game in the history of the Little League World Series. In days gone by, the first mayor of Cherry Hill was paid $1,000 to execute his duties and a favorite summer pastime was swimming at Columbia Lakes.

The Cherry Hill Historical Commission strives to document and preserve the history of our town. The Local History Room is open Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or by appointment. If you have any Cherry Hill/Delaware Township memorabilia you wish to loan or donate, please contact the Commission at (856) 488-7886 or chhc@chtownship.com.
