NJ has One-Stop Career Centers across the state, providing job search assistance, training and education assistance, access to the Jersey Jobs Club, and on-site resource rooms.

NJ Career Connections
Run by NJ Dept of Labor, provides users direct access to career navigation resources, including interactive tools and useful resources such as a directory of training programs, information on hundreds of careers, and advice and guidance on a wide variety of topics. In addition, the website will help job seekers learn how to network, find employment, and prepare for interviews.

Occupational Outlook Handbook
The US Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes the Occupational Outlook Handbook, which can help job seekers “find career information on duties, education and training, pay, and outlook for hundreds of occupations.” The book is available in the non-circulating reference collection under the call number 331.702 UNI. The OOH is also available online: http://www.bls.gov/ooh/

USAJOBS – The Federal Government’s Official Employment Site
This official site connects you with US Federal Government civil service jobs across the United States and around the world. 

NJ Civil Service Commission
The New Jersey Civil Service Commission provides information on NJ state, county, and municipal government job opportunities, updating job listings daily.


Resources for older job seekers and the long-term unemployed

New Start Career Network
Run by Rutgers, the goal of the New Start Career Network is to support older (45+) and long-term unemployed NJ job seekers.

Ready to Work NJ
Ready to Work NJ provides coaching, training and job placement services for the long-term unemployed, military veterans, or underemployed.

Computer Classes at CHPL
CHPL offers free computer classes every month. Click here for class details and how to register. Many classes do not require a CHPL library card for registration.  

GCF Learn Free
From Microsoft Office and email to reading, math, and more, GCFLearnFree.org, developed by the Goodwill Community Foundation, offers more than 180 topics, including more than 2,000 lessons, 800+ videos, and 55+ interactives and games, completely free.

Looking for help editing your resume, or learning how to use the databases and resources on this page? With your Cherry Hill library card, you can book a Reference by Appointment

Submit a request for a Reference by Appointment online, over the phone, or in person, and be matched with one of our skilled reference librarians for a one-hour appointment. The service is available Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend appointments are available by special arrangement.

Please note: librarians will not be able to write resumes, but can check spelling, grammar, and assist with formatting.


Community Job Board

The Community Job Board, located in the Library's Main Reading Room, has both job postings as well as job searching resources for Cherry Hill residents. All of the positions are based in Cherry Hill and vary from entry-level minimum wage to high-salary professional positions. While it won’t have every job, it should help you on your way to finding the right job! This board is updated every Tuesday.
